Racing Waters is a 9-part documentary series that immerses viewers in the exhilarating world of war canoe racing, following the Island Brave canoe team of the Snuneymuxw First Nation through their 2025 race season. Led by Chief Mike Wyse Sr., the series captures the drama and intensity of the Pacific Northwest race circuit while delving into the personal stories of the athletes who embody resilience, cultural pride, and community. From Michael Wyse Jr.’s journey to uphold his family’s legacy to Edward Wyse-Good’s redemption through racing, each episode weaves breathtaking competition with authentic character-driven storytelling. As the team battles to win and prepares to represent their nation and country at the World Distance Championships in Brazil, Racing Waters highlights themes of perseverance, intergenerational learning, and the unbreakable bonds between people and the lands and waters they call home.
