Dancing Wind

PUBLIC INSTALLATION

Dancing Wind was commissioned for the 2010 Olympic Games in the Athletes Village in Whistler, B.C. It consists of four large panels made from stainless steel, cedar, and glass. Each one represents a direction, wind, animal, and a colour relating to a medicine wheel. The North wind is embodied by a wolf in white, the East wind is a yellow eagle, the South wind is a red frog, and the West wind is a bear in black. The swirling designs on each panel are a reflection of the turbulent nature of wind.
